Weekly Rewind

Weekly rewind #4

Organize yourself before you try to organize anything else.”

C. Jay

This week was all about (trying) to organizing my life.

📋 My vacation is officially over and I went back to work. I'm a lucky person because I get to work in my field, with nice people, and on something I believe can make an impact in the world. Yes, I work in education. Of course I would like to earn more (please, promotion, come this year...) and live closer to my work; it takes me almost 1:20 to get there and another 1:20 to come back home. This year is going to be very challenging for me since I'll be working with Math and English in addition to my native language. But it is ok; I love learning. And I get paid to learn.

🎲 We've started our #dungeon26 challenge. We used to play RPG every Friday with friends before the kids and a few years ago, we started playing with them on Sundays. Last year was a complicated year so we missed many chances to play again. In 2026, we want to play 52 games.

💻 I bought a domain for this blog. The reason? This is where I track how I am spending my time in this life. We do not have as much time as we think and having a space where everything is logged and reviewed and where I’m held accountable, helps me focus on what really matters. Paying for a domain, which is not cheap for me, is a way of commiting to myself and what I say I want to do. I basically paid for commitment.

🏥 My toe is better, not hurting so much and I started to exercise a little bit. Abs, arms, squats, things that don't need my toe. Hopefully in a week or two, I'll be back to walking and jogging.

Watching

📺 Wanda, Pietro, Olek and I watched "A sloth story", a movie we were eager to watch. I slept through half of it. Unfortunately, our high expectations for a fun animated film were destroyed the first 30 minutes. We finished Hilda and now we have a movie left to watch. We loved the tv series!

📺 Olek and I finished "Person of Interest" (again) and really, what an exciting tv show! Also, we finished the second season of Invasion and it was painfully slow. Unlike the first season, most of the episodes felt like fillers to a story that did not know where it was going.

📺 While doing some basic exercises, I am (re)watching "Grimm". This year I don't want to think too much about anything so I've decided to watch less documentaries and "serious" tv shows.

Reading/Listening

📚 I finished a book about stoicism for youngsters. I liked it but I found it too simple and written by someone who probably don't work with kids or teenagers. Overall, it was OK.

🎧 LP (Laura Pergolizzi), what an amazing voice! 100% recommended.

🎧 Hole MTV Unplugged 1995. I believe Hole is and was an underrated band, and Courtney Love, because of her personality and the fact that she was married to Kurt Cobain, was never appreciated as the rock star she deserves to be.

Fitness log

🏃‍♀️ I started to jog again even though my toe is not 100% ok. At least is not killing me.

💪 I also did some strength exercises but I am too weak. I mean, I can do 120 abs, 90 squats as planned. But push-ups? I did like 5 and almost die. So, to avoid feeling completely useless about my arms' strength, I started using a 3 kg weight. After two and a half months of doing nothing, I think it is a good way to (re)start.

See you next week!
